These cruises can be a good deal, as they usually are cheaper per night than conventional round-trip cruises. Disney Cruise Line has just released their summer 2024 itineraries, including the first visits to their new private island in The Bahamas, Lighthouse Point. If the ship docks in a secondary location and you have to travel to the big tourist destinations, I always book excursions through the cruise line. For instance, the day my family and I explored Rome, the ship docked in Civitavecchia, Italy, and we had to take a two-hour bus ride into the city.

Following a Transatlantic voyage in late-October, the ship returns to Fort Lauderdale in November and offers Bahamian and Caribbean cruises for the remainder of the year. DVC member cruises are only open to Disney Vacation Club members who have purchased at least some of their vacation points directly from Disney (rather than from another member via resale). Members can use their vacation points to book the cruise or can pay cash rates.

The Disney Wonder will head to Alaska again after spending much of the winter visiting Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Hawaii. Starting May 4, 2024, the Disney Magic will sail from San Juan to Florida and offer 3-, 4-, and 5-night Bahamian, and 5-night Western Caribbean Cruise. The majority of the Disney Magic summer 2024 Bahamian itineraries feature a stop at Lighthouse Point. While Summer 2024 dates were announced today, general booking will not open until Thursday March 30th. The tiered booking period will begin March 27th for Castaway Club Members and some others. The new Castaway Club early booking benefit for Pearl members is NOT part of this release.

There are a number of conflicts at Castaway Cay that will be resolved once the actual itineraries for each sailing are revealed.
